How to use the Workshops tool

Workshops are a great way to upsell 1-on-1 sessions or seminars during an event. You can apply an additional cost as well as offering multiple slots. This tool is perfect for conferences and other events with sub-events throughout the day.
You can create Workshops once your event is created. From the event’s dashboard, you’ll see ‘Workshops’ as the first option underneath the ‘Tools’ option. This will open the Workshops tool.
To create a new Workshop, click ‘Add a Workshop/Seminar/Talk’.
This will open the ‘Create a New Workshop’ page. Firstly, select the type of workshop you’re creating from the Category drop-down.
Next, you can enter:
- The workshop title (how it will be named during the purchase process)
- The location (which room or area the workshop will take place)
The 'ticket output title' - this is what will appear on the attendees’ket. This saves your ticket having the full, potentially long title. Choose a shortened version or a code that your event staff will understand!
Below these options, you can enter a description of the workshop.
The next step is to enter any slots for your workshop. If you have only one, simply enter the first and move on, although you can add multiple slots. These options will appear in a drop-down for customers to select their slot during the checkout process.
- The Workshop/Seminar/Talk Options Label is the title of the options.
- The Option Label/Name is where you put the individual slots, e.g. times.
- The Option Value is where you can add a shorter title for use by event staff or on tickets.
- Available spaces   how many places there are available   each workshop.
- Extra Cost is where you can add an additional cost for booking the slots. Additional costs are a great way to increase revenue by offering additional experiences at an event. Other than the Option Label/Name, all other columns are optional.
Finally, you can choose to limit the number of workshop places a ticket uses. For example, if you have a family ticket or table ticket set up, set the number of spaces used to match - this ensures your tickets book the correct number of places and avoids overbooking your workshop.

To create your workshop, click ‘Create New Workshop’ below the Ticket Settings module.

Please note: to edit an existing workshop, you can use the search bar on the Workshop dashboard to find it, then click the pencil icon to the right.
